*About My Daycare*

My home is a Registered Family Home with the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services in addition to participating in the Young Care Food Program, a USDA approved meal program.  It is regularly inspected and I am responsible for the ongoing maintenance to ensure equipment safety, sanitation, fire prevention, nutrition and safe food handling practices, record keeping, age appropriate play environment and provider to child ratio.   My capacity is limited to no more than six children under school age in addition to six children school age and older.  In order to ensure compliance of the state regulations, unscheduled pop-in visits are performed by an assigned state social worker.   I care for children from toddler ages and up.  I am open from 7:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  My home is located in The Colony at 5056 Thompson Drive.  I may be reached by phone at 972-624-8695.  Breakfast, lunch and one snack are offered to all full time children.

*Environment*

My home will provide clean and well-supervised play areas.  The toy and play area, learning center and nap area are sprayed weekly with disinfectant and bedding is laundered each Friday.  I have outlet protectors in all outlets not being used.  All harmful chemicals, medications, or dangerous items are kept behind closed doors on top shelves.  There are NO SMOKERS in our household.  All dishes and utensils will either be disposable or sanitized after each use.  All face washing will be done with either a fresh clean washcloth or disposable wipes.  I ask that parents follow my guidelines regarding illness stated in my policy handbook.  This is for the protection of all those involved and so that your child will be as comfortable as possible when he/she becomes ill.

*About Me*

I am required to keep current First Aid and CPR certifications and be trained specifically on SIDS and Shaken Bay Syndrome each year.  I also received a Registered Family Home Orientation provided by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, and a balanced menu and nutrition orientation provided by Young Care.  I completed 3 years of Child Development curriculum at Skyline High school and worked with preschool aged children for 3 years.  During this time I developed learning techniques, lesson plans and menu plans for a daycare environment.  In an on-going effort to stay abreast of new child development techniques I will attend at least twenty hours of training per year in a home care related field.  For the last several years, prior to becoming a daycare provider, I worked in an office environment as a database administrator, but after my son was born I decided I had to find a way to stay home and raise my kids.  So here I am, a surrogate mommy of six.
